I think it has to do with whether or not the anime firm decides to follow the manga to a t. Especially if the manga is still being published. That's the reason Naruto and many other series have so much fillers. But for YGO, I have no excuse.

Fillers really do take a lot of fun out of a series. And I have no idea *why* YGO has so much filler, because I think the manga was finished when they made the anime. Usually fillers are made because the anime episodes come out faster than manga chapters.

Well not to insult the show cose i still kinda like it, but i think its because it a kids show you like pokemon and that lot and when you're a kid you don't really notice fillers and the get more money. Which explains the spin offs
