Now I'm not hatin', will someone pleeeze explain how Beyonce is slated to do Etta James in her upcoming new project and not Queen Latifah, or even Jill Scott. Come on even Etta herself. I can't hear Beyonce here. I'm not hatin' because I reallly like Beyonce, but not for everything.

I've seen Etta James and I've seen Beyonce, and Beyonce has some "pipes", but to "do" Miss Etta. I think not. Beyonce will sing the songs in her own way and I don't think will be able to reach down for the one and only Etta James sound. By the way, did you know that the great pool "shark" Minnasota Fats is supposed to be Miss James father. She got "clues" to it after she was grown.

I'm from africa and Etta James is still making HUGE waves there, I got enough love for beyonce but we need to recognise that she just doesnt fit here, I mean you look at dream girls and you kinda feel a little embarassment after jenny hudson blew a hole in the back of her head, seriously though Etta James she is not, she has always done well with bootylicious not soul, Queen Latifah, angie stone, jill scott any day!!

On thata "vocal range" video there are exclusively live performances! what video did you watch? Beyoncé's voice is a million times richer when she sings live, everybody knows it. EVERYTHING she did on the records she can replicate live.

not bashing you k. but in this case he is right. I've seen beyonce live and she really does sound better than a majority of other big time divas out there today. especially live. i know its a matter of opinion but she really can hit low notes and it annoys me because i wish she would hit more low notes on her albums. but i do agree with you that etta james is the best, no one can top her singing voice, especially when using her own songs.

I agree!! I was searching for her original piece on here!! She still has a soulful voice and I understand it's been decades since she's recorded "At Last"... But her orginal is THE BEST one thus far!!!! (nodding)
