Ron Paul wants government not to decide gay marriage, he feels the government should stay out of it and leave it in the hand of the institutions, it not that he wants to make it illegal. He would not support an ammendment bannng gay marriage. As for abortion, he doesnt like abortion, but he would let the states make the decision, not the federal government. This is how it is suppose to be according to the 10th ammendment, the states should decide on issues not stated in the constitution.

Saying "let the states decide abortion" is the same thing as saying "prohibit abortion." Either we have a fundamental, Constitutional right to our own bodies, or we do not. Paul supports federal enforcement of the Constitutional provisions he considers important, and no protection for those parts of the document he opposes.

It seems to me your implying Ron Paul wants to take away womens right to their own bodies. Untrue. Ron Paul just feels that a unborn baby has a right to live. You see,its a debatable issue whether it is right or wrong, its not stated in the constitution, so it is cnstitutional to let the states decide..it is not prohibiting abortion, if a woman wants to abort so bad, they could go to a state that supports it. Paul is anit federal gov, he only supports what is in the Constitution.

Of course it's stated in the Constitution. We have a constitutional right that extends to contraception and many other areas. Paul wants to eliminate that right, and even bar the courts from hearing cases concerning it. He supports the Constitution and separation of powers except when he doesn't.
