Funny how the screen writer was SOOOO interested in "getting it right" that he only told the story of the first third of the the book "We were soldiers once...and young". What the film fails to tell us is the massacre of the US soldiers at LZ Albany a day later. The 2nd 7th was ambushed while marching to a second pick-up landing zone. It was a route. As the title "We were soldiers" implies, the movie only tells part of the story "We were soldiers once...and young". More American propaganda.

"American Propaganda" ? It was an amazing feat considering that the Americans were outnumbered and yet still defeated the NVA. Coming from someone who memorialized the army of the Third Reich in a video tribute, I find it a bit ironic to hear complaints of "American Propaganda". Maybe if they were German soldiers it would be alright...

Lt. Col. Moore stated they were fighing a "tough and determined enemy." He hit the bulls eye with that statement. Ho Chi Mihn was the NVA's leader and he had stated this, "You can kill ten of my men for every one I kill of yours, but even at those odds, you will lose and I will win. " The Americans who fought the NVA were some brave souls. GODS SPEED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN SERVING OUR GREAT COUNTRY AND TO THOSE WHO AHVE PAID THE GREATEST PRICE OF DEATH.
