Video Description:
Remember the pre-cable days huddled around the old black and white TV, fidgeting with the antenna to get WSBK TV38 to come in to see the Bruins?
And who can forget doing a jig to the opening tune by the Ventures ("Nutty")!
These clips are a little "grainy" and seen best when viewed in the smaller screen but they are a reminder of the days of watching the Bruins before NESN (great reception today, but the team was way better then).
And, of course, the best Bruin of them all (and greatest all around player ever!) wore Number Four!

Flip players. Could Orr have won the Art Ross as a forward -- no problem, he already did it from the more difficult defensive position.

Grew up as a Canadiens fan in the 60s and 70s. Morphed into a Pens fan when I went to Pitt. I hate the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and especially the Red Sox. Bostonians are really annoying. But if you don't love Bobby Orr, you don't love hockey or understand the game. +128 one season? Wow. Best Defenseman ever, physically crushing, maybe the most powerful skater ever in the NHL.

Haven't cheered for the Bruins since November 26, 1975..unless they were playing Montreal..whoever beats Montreal is my team..even cheered for Red Army vs Habs..probably the only Canadian who did..how I hated the habs with passion. orr is unquestionably the greatest hockey player whose plus minus proves it ... gretzky has a HORRIBLE plus/minus ratio.
2. orr is in my humble opinion the greatest athlete save MAYBE muhammad ali, of all time. asked why he stared so intently at the rafters before a critical game with chicago, larry bird said it all: i was looking to the rafters at bobby orr's number.
3. in 1976 ALL nhl coaches were polled: if you could have one player to fill ALL six positions ... who? ALL picked orr.

and re: your no 3. No doubt Orr could have played all skating positions better than Wayne. Wayne was not a def speicialist, just a guy who set the bar with seasns over 200 points, including one of 92 goals.
Orr would not be able to do that though. Gretz won 4 cups, Orr just 2.
