I love this song. Always preferred it to the original Rubber Duckie. The song was so much fun, and it shows in the puppeteering. Check out Ernie (and all the other muppts too)bouncing and dancing to the song. You can see how much fun Jim had in this skit just by watching all of Ernie's movements.
BTW, on a side note, the Ernie muppets from the later 80s (this time period) were my favorite as well. They were the best looking of all of them. The Ernie muppet they use today looks AWFUL!

I heard that during an IFA (Insane Fighters Association) "Baby Wars" fight between Christina Aguilera (who has a son, Max) and Nicole Richie (who has a daughter, Harlow). Jordan Bratman was Christina's trainer, and Joel Madden was Nicole's trainer. Christina and Jordan won by knockout.

What's the other one? I'd thought "Rubber Duck" was it.
(Kids probably say "Who's that green guy?" when the see him. How would they know who Kermit the Frog is? The Muppets are pretty low-profile these days.)

zhelder: I agree that the Ernie they're using right now looks awful. He looks bloated, and his facial proportions aren't right. Bert is even worse. (I don't get it. They've been fine at updating these guys for most of the last 40 years, but suddenly they're getting sloppy.)
My favorite Ernie was the one they were using around 1972.

I actually buy Whitmire's Kermit a lot more than his Ernie. Not because of the voice but because of the personality projected.
So it didn't surprise me to read that Whitmire saw plenty of Henson performing Kermit, but never actually saw him doing Ernie (since he didn't work on SS back then). So in his words, he "didn't know what part of Jim Ernie was coming from." I think that shows.
I can think of this Kermit as "the same guy", but this Ernie seems like a different person.
