It's an 'L', but sometimes it can sound like an 'R', I think. An instance I suppose would be salanghaeyo, which means I love you in Korean. I've always seen it as saranghaeyo.
From what I know, Koreans don't pronounce the L's as strongly as English speakers.
I'm not Korean so if a Korean wants to correct this then feel free to.
I really like the Korean language, and I think that it's possibly the prettiest out of all the Eastern Asian Languages.

Hey guys this is a great video...thank's for the explanation. I'm very involved with studying chinese right now but learning korean is another one of my language goals, so this is a great help to me. I've got to get started somewhere, right? Anyway's, thank's to you both for posting this. ^_^

Is this correct? Agh, too many similar pronounces in korean language! At least i know how to write and pronounce, 한국! ;)

Though i've only studied hangul for about 2-4 hours. One more question, do you type hangul:
한굴, only changing the last letter?

I mean't ㅅ is (shs), ㅈ is (sjs) and ㅊ is (zts). I feel ridiculous hissing in my room finding out the most fittin western alphabets. :P

ㅇ has 2 sounds.
ex) 영 => "young" sound.
1. "silent" sound in using at the first part of syllable (ㅇ + ㅕ = ㅕ).
2. "ng" sound in using at the last part of syllable.

I'm a [below basic]beginner in Korean and I learn from other websites but the "h" looks different? the other website says the h is ㅎ

Big Bang = 빅뱅.
Big = B + i + g = ㅂ + ㅣ + ㄱ = 빅.
Bang = B + a + ng = ㅂ + ㅐ + ㅇ = 뱅.
'the circle thing (ㅇ)' is just consonant and sounds 'ng' at the end of syllable.
'빅뱅' is just sound-copying of 'big bang' and the meaning is same as 'big bang'.
'대폭발' is meaning-translation of 'big-bang'
대 = big
폭발 = bang

I was wondering if perhaps you could go into more detail of how to write the letters AS IN where to place the individual symbols within the syllable square.
