| I wish that I had heard about squeeze when I was a kid growing up in the 70's and 80's. I probably would have listened to them right along with Blondie and a few others back then but I didnt hear about them until an old friend made me a tape copy of singles 45 and under along with van morrison who I hadnt heard of back in 94. |

| It's always so interesting to see how shockingly eclectic a top 10 hit in 1979 could be (at least in the UK). This song is all over the place and way better for it (Giorgio Moroder-esque synths, octave-separated chorus, half-rhymes, a bit of two-tone, etc, but the song is totally hetero and laddish in lyrical content) Make me sad that this was their last "wacky" single. |
