I jog on the treadmill in intervals. Jog, sprint, jog, sprint....and when I get really tired I put the angle up on the treadmill and walk at a fast pace and repeat. Is that the best way to burn calories on a treadmill?

eliptical trainers let you add tension with your arms (i assume they have this function on all trainers) giving you extra resistance for your upper body. the stronger you get the more you can experiment using your arms aswell as your legs. personally i find it easier to switch off during my workout rather than concentrating on where i place my feet on the treadmill

Why? I know that there is some true in that because have an oncle that does enduro swimming and he tells me that the skinny guys form the pool don´t last in the sea. My bet is that your body start to retain fat to keep the heat, like a seal. Is this true? If so, if swim in a pool (the water is warm) that problem don't exist, right?.

Not really. People who swim never get very lean because swimming is not a good cardio vascular exercise. This is because it's not weight bearing, you don't use your legs much (during long swims), you use small shoulder muscles, and you're floating.

A good thing is to cycle to work! I cycle 11 miles each way, which gives a total of 22 miles, and I do it 50 min. each way, so thats 22 miles, in 1 hour and 40 min. So thats an average of 13,2 miles/hour. The easiest and most fun cardio :) And its free !

Hmmm, when i used to train in waterpolo i had a lot more overall endurance and strength, and i was generaly lot lighter yet more defined then when i was on a simple running/elliptical program.

steve just wondering what you think of jump rope for a good cardio workout? i do it myself 4 times a week 30-40 min at a time and ive had some great results

Cardio's effectiveness varies based on Intnesity, Duration, Frequency & Exercise Type. Jumping rope doesn't really utilize the whole leg completely through a full rangeof motion. BUT if you do it long enough, hard enough and frequntly enough you can achieve good results.

thanks for the reply steve:) i just wanted to add that doing jump rope is good if like here in uk the weather can be awful and i cant go for a run its great for that and also its amazing to use in interval training. it's been said you can burn 600-700 calories an hour so its a good substitute for my run if like i said the weather isnt so great. keep us informed steve:)
