The award-winning marching band from Winona Cotter High School takes the field at Irondale High School's Fall 2004 Field Show Competition, "It's About Time." Performing the piece "La Nouba" (based off the soundtrack of the Cirque Du Soleil show bearing the same name), Cotter's show is divided into four parts: Distorted, Revé Rouge, A La Lune, and Urban. Soloists during Revé Rouge are trumpet players Steve Wille and Michael Brickl.

My hs is doing this show this year. It's my first year and I'm in the pit. I hope we do well, we have a very small band. Today we played our first group practice and I don't think we sound half bad. Maybe as good as that if I could learn my part on the keyboards. For your first year and first time really reading music, its a difficult show.
But you guys did really well considering the camera and the distance screwed up the sound... :)

DANG! That cool trumpet part in A La Lune sounds so much better when in the beginning you take it really slow then you gradually speed up!

I'm so excited. My band is doing this show and we just got all of the drill for distorted on the field today. not bad for the fifth day of full band camp, I think.

wow, how many people are doing this show,this band was tooo big to play this show, so i sounded bad, people were not watching the drum major and the show was conducted tooo slow, also, everyone was also cramped up so the marching wasnt good, i give you props for playing the songs you guys played

So? my band got three of the four drills done in five days. Granted, they still need work, but it's an accomplishment.

we are starting drill on Monday.
We're just getting through basics right now.

Distorted just sounds amazing for us as well as Reve Rouge... we just got started on A La Lune but we got it down.

DAMN the drumline just messed up the best song in this show, Urban. Me being a tenor player, i did not hear the tenor solo and ... it just sounded bad.this show is all about percussion, they should've been the best.

i think in some parts you guys sounded better but in other parts we sound better.. lol
the pit did great on the bell break in urban, they were a little early on the measure right after it. but thats ok we do that ALL THE TIME.

Once again, we're doing the same show as you. In A La Lune you guys for some reason didn't take any of the tempo changes that are in the original score. It makes the song much more interesting. In Urban I'm disappointed that your drumline used stock drum parts because they are almost always completely boring and unexciting.

hold up on that last comment i put. that last song wuz "Urban." those snare n tenors solos were dirty. the snares shoulda played traditional style not match-sticked. it looks nicer. wat place did u get?

ok. another comment. it wuz written in the music that the tempo slows down 2 110 bpm n the middle of "A La Lune." it wuz the part wn the 3 clowns- i mean color gaurd members start dancing wierd. the song s better if it slows down right there.
