gingerpeachie how long has it been since u were in N.I. because i live there and there has been peace, fragile peace but still, no more bombs, no more IRA, just some sectarianism and racism, but it is recovering from the 30 years of damage that was rought on it

Dthompson has a point tho, but dont forget hu it was that forced it upon us, it was the english hu sent over the Presbrytirians to Ulster, if they didnt do that then there wuldnt have been any Protestants, also if St Paddy hu was british didnt exist there wuld be no Catholics, therefore no fighting, so i think we've established it was the Englishs fault that the "Troubles" happened

Hey chill, It's only my opinion, my dad was from Crossmaglen. I was brought up on a South Glasgow estate 2 miles from Jim Kerr, same age as him, I have a partner in Dublin and was in Londonderry 2 mths ago. I love Simple Minds and all of Ireland but I still think this song, though beautiful, is a wee bit overdone. I also know that Republican and Loyalist thugs are still at it on a lot lower key. Still wish an Irish (Northern) band wrote this, mind you "Stiff Little Fingers" had it sussed. :¬P

fair enough and actually i turned fifteen in september, im in thailand doin missionary work with Ethnos asia only been here 4 months mind, i suppose ur right a wee bit tho, but ppl always overdramatize sad things, slavery, racism towards black, while i admit they were bad the racism one went to ways, also i think Van Morrison did a song about it, i no i did but i havent shown my songs to any1 else

I absolutley love this song, it was my nanna's favourate song, and played at her funeral. We always said we would see Simple Minds live, and last night we did in Manchester. This song gave me goosebumbs when they performed it live. I would really book tickets to see them if you like Simple Minds. Its brilliant.
Loved every min of it, wish i could rewind time, and go back again :D

Really respect what your doing especially at your age, your ahead of the field.
