Haircut 100 seemed poised for mega-stardom just as Heyward decided to seek a solo career. The remainder of the band tried to continue with the album Paint and Paint (1984, with percussionist Marc Fox successfully taking over Heyward's vocal duties), but they broke up soon after.
Nick Heyward has enjoyed a modestly successful solo career since leaving the band, beginning with the 1983 album North Of A Miracle, which produced Heyward's first solo hit, "Whistle Down The Wind", and continuing with Postcards From Home (1986) and the somewhat disjointed I Love You Avenue (1988).

Really wonderful theme. I listened to this song for first time in the Hughes's film "Sixteen Candles". Just a little excerpt at the school dance was enought to be taken with this song. Deep melody, deep strings. Great video. Thanks for posting it !

these videos from the 80's and thought how great it would

The whole album is great - I think 'Take that Situation' is more of a hark back to Haircut 100 - whereas the rest of the album is less 'charty.'

I first heard this song on an 80's new wave compilation a few years back, and i was immediately taken by the subdued beatifulness of it. What a great listen, and the instrumentation on this piece is quite wonderful in a relaxing way.
