That's one of the most sensible comments I have seen written on here. It's at the heart of our problems too. Why is it we're so extreme with our patriotism? Why do the Dixie Chicks experience a national outcry & death threats when they speak out against Bush's war? Why do so many people hate Michael Moore so fiercely? Surely self criticism is the route to improvement, not arrogance!

The question is, can the US and its Allies do anything do retain their currencies world reserve status and wipe out the euro currency?
I think the whole petrodollar theory is fascinating, instead of fighting with guns/machinery, we're now fighting with currencies which can do far more damage.

I suspect this theory is incorrect. Taking note of the 10 year layoff between Bush's, and we're not fighting this war to win it. Bush eagerly signed America into the SPP/North American union, which will eventually eliminate the national currencies of Canada/Mexico/US in favor of a regional currency like the Euro, called the Amero. The global elite are working feverishly towards a world government, and national currencies/sovereignty stands in their way.

I guess that it is possible that the Bush admin made a move that needed to be done to keep the US dollar afloat a little bit longer, until the global elite were ready to pull the plug on it. Which looks like is happening now. Just recently, former fed chief Greenspan called for the Arab nations to de-peg their oil sales from the US dollar. I think that might have been the green light to sink the dollar for good.

Well, its an interesting idea but its not possible. First the euro wasn`t strong before the war (it gained strength from the war) 0.87 dollar for 1 euro (before)and 1.56 dollar for 1 euro (now). Second; the war in iraq was a military strategie based on securing the oil fields in iraq. Bush toled this little detail when he met with sungh (priminist. of INDIA), when he gave india the US Support!!!! for theire NUCLEAR ARSENAL.. Allen greenspan (served under 8 presidents) also says..oil..

but what if George Bush speculated that the Euro would still however overtake the dollar because he himself knows that america's trade deficit and budget deficits are always increasing non-stop. so maybe if he was worried from the beginning, then invasion could retain the dollar hegemony...im actually writing a research economic research paper on iraq war

Why not subvert the control these energy cartels have over your life!?! This is not spam, merely someone spreading the word. You can install a very low budget hydrogen fuel cell on your petrol engine and acheive between 40 and 60 percent improvement in MPG! This from a cheap home made system.
